Q: How do I check the status of my order?
A: When placing your order, please allow up to 1-2 business days for your order to be processed. We will notify you of shipping date and will wait for your approval before shipping so you are aware of when to retrieve your shipment from the FedEx center.
Q: How does shipping work?
A: Since these are live animals, shipping is ONLY priority overnight. Your iguana will be shipped to the closest authorized FedEx center to your home. This is because boxes tend to sit on mail trucks sometimes for hours before delivery. These trucks are not climate controlled and can overheat or freeze your animal during severe highs and lows. Shipping is ONLY on Tuesdays and Wednesdays to allow for live animal insurance. You must be available to pick up your animal the next morning. Tracking is provided to you after drop off. We use Reptiles2You exclusively for shipping. For more info, please visit: Reptiles2You - BEST way to Ship Your Reptiles
One young iguana shipped overnight typically averages $75-$80.

We do not replace animals that are killed by other household pets or children.
Q: Can I choose the exact animal I want from your stock?
A: Unless displayed as individual animals on the sales page, all animals are selected for you.
Q: Can I specify the sex of the animals?
A: Yes, if the animal is over 6 months old, we sex each one. Keep in mind that It can be very difficult to determine the sex of an iguana until it is at least one year old, and even then, some iguanas are still hard to sex accurately. Since probing entails placing a small rod down into the iguana's vent, pushing too hard can damage the animal. Accuracy of probing under a year of age is the best way to determine sex, but not always foolproof. If purchasing multiple animals, remember that only ONE male can be kept per habitat due to their territoriality.
Q: Why are females higher in price than males?
A: Females are more valuable to breeders because we keep males and females in 1:2 ratios, and sometimes more than two females are kept with males! Since males can only be kept one per cage, males are not necessary to keep in abundance.
Q: Are there differences in temperament between males and females?
A: Yes, and no. Generally, males are more animated because their nature is to show off. Since iguanas are technically wild animals, their temperament depends on their care and handling. Getting a baby iguana and handling it once it is acclimated to its new environment will usually net a great sociable pet! Females can lay eggs with or without a male present, so carrying eggs will present its own challenges. Breeding season for green iguanas is in the winter, so your male will be full of hormones he matures. This can present with aggressive nature, even for the most sociable of animals. Females can also be testy when gravid (with eggs), and they will start digging in early spring in preparation for egg laying.
Q: Can I get pet insurance for my iguana?
A: Yes! Nationwide pet insurance covers iguanas, and they also give multi-pet discounts. There is a $250 deductible then they cover 90% of all vet costs after deductible is met. This insurance has paid for itself over and over with our animals! Pet Insurance for Birds & Exotics | Ferrets, Reptiles, Rabbits & More
Q: Can I clip my iguana's nails?
A: Please wait until your iguana is at least a year old. You will only need to cut the tiny tips. This can be done with human fingernail clippers. Cutting too far up will cause profuse bleeding, so be very careful.
Q: Why isn't my new iguana eating?
A: They need time to acclimate before they feel comfortable eating. Animal instinct when in uncertain situations is to avoid eating since digestion slows down essential responses related to fight or flight. Simply, let them be for a while so they feel safe enough to resume their natural activities.
